SBV YES Learnerships 2025

SBV is looking for a Distribution Controller (YES Learnerships) to oversee the loading, moving, and unloading of sachet coins of a specific value.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect all necessary papers, including ID, SBV laser card, Cash Movement Receipt Book, Specie run schedule, and stationery.
  • Ensure that the vehicle is correctly and timely loaded and balanced in accordance with the run/vehicle requirements.
  • Responsible for monitoring the integrity of species bags (no tears and properly sealed) when loading the species vehicle
  • Dual control process as per SOP to be applied when counting bags whilst they are being loaded onto the vehicle.
  • Responsible for locking cargo area leading to stored run cash when not in the area ensuring cash is secured whilst loading of specie truck is taking place
  • Transport specie using a trolley.
  • Follow relevant bank SOP when entering a branch
  • Correctly perform transactions in accordance with the advised values on the run schedule
  • Thoroughly inspect the integrity of the specie bags received. Maintain dual control on branch entry and transactions in collaboration with bank authorities.
  • Obtain permission and an authorization number from the base before allowing a branch to change orders or deposits.
  • Obtain permission from the base on any unforeseen or unplanned event before transactions take place.
  • Follow the dual control process when offloading the vehicle.
  • Responsible for securing the cargo area that leads to stored currency when not in the area, assuring cash security while the species truck is being unloaded.
  • Accurately record feedback on the completed run-on-run schedule
  • Assist the Treasury Custodian in receiving and paying out of specie.
  • Assist the Treasury Custodian in receiving and giving out notes.
  • Accurately count and check the packing and unpacking of cash/bags from Species bins in line with the Vault timetable for each denomination.
  • Feed coins into the sachet machines, then weigh the sachet bags.
  • Follow dual control process to load specie bins.
  • Assist the retail operation with daily operational responsibilities to ensure that the business objectives are met in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Subscribe and align to SBV Services’ ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standards, ensuring the department’s processes and quality management system is at all times in compliance with the standard.
  • Support SBV’s ESG journey by reporting and monitoring ESG obligations to guarantee a good reflection and outcome.
  • Drive the department’s principles while instilling confidence, excitement, and devotion to the purpose.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • No criminal record
  • NOT participated in YES Previously
  • Must be unemployed
  • Cannot be on a current unemployed learnership
