Heineken NQF3 Packaging Learnerships

  • Demonstrating knowledge of fundamental machine operations in a manufacturing or packaging setting.
  • Monitoring critical control points (CCPs) is an essential component of the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system.
  • Implementing quality control procedures in a food or sensitive consumer goods operation.

Competence in three Machine Workplace Observations as part of the Learnership on an automated food and beverage packaging plant comprises (to be determined depending on operational needs):

  • Washing
  • Filling
  • Sealing
  • Labelling
  • Palletizing
  • Depalletizing
  • Performing first-line maintenance.
  • Applying problem-solving techniques.
  • Demonstrating good communication abilities, as well as the capacity to interpret and apply information.
  • Demonstrating Mathematics abilities
  • As part of the programme, learners must attend lessons and successfully complete examinations (minimum pass rate of 70% each topic).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Unemployed at the time of application.
  • Must have completed Grade 12 with Mathematics (NOT Math Literacy) and English as subject.
  • Relevant expertise in a production/high-speed packing setting would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of safe working procedures.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function independently and under pressure.
  • Capable of meeting the Learnership’s inherent physical demands.
  • Must be willing and able to work shifts and overtime as part of workplace training, if needed.
  • While working for Heineken Beverages, follow the company’s Code of Business Conduct.
  • Successful applicants will be offered a Fixed-term Contract
