Umalusi Administrative Assistant

Position Title: Administrative Assistant
Salary: R 222 957 per annum
Reference No: QCC/03/01/01

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support for the Qualifications, Curriculum, and Certification Unit.
  • Contact external clients/stakeholders by phone, in person, or via email.
  • Manage logistical arrangements for committee meetings, launches, workshops, and seminars.
  • Take minutes and draft basic letters.
  • Provide general administrative assistance where required.
  • Assist with switchboard duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent

Additional Advantages:

  • Two years of administrative experience, ideally in an educational setting, will be desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Good computer abilities and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the internet).
  • Understanding of basic office management ideas and procedures.
  • Capability to design and manage research projects, seminars, and workshops.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • A driver’s licence would be an advantage.

The Umalusi Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training establishes and monitors standards for general and further education and training in South Africa under the National Qualifications Framework Act 67 of 2008, as amended, and the General and Further Education and Training Quality Assurance Act 58 of 2001, as amended.

The Council is tasked with the development and management of a sub-framework of qualifications for general and further education and training and for the attendant quality assurance.
