Transnet Corporate Centre and Academy is pleased to announce an interesting Young Professional-in-Training (Heritage) opportunity for energetic, enthusiastic, and newly qualified graduates in the heritage, arts, and humanities sectors. This two-year structured programme aims to nurture future professionals by equipping them with valuable workplace experience across Transnet’s operations.

Tasks
As a Young Professional-in-Training, you will participate in various heritage-related projects and administrative tasks, gaining real-world experience through:
- Assisting with heritage-related tasks and responsibilities in different departments
- Shadowing experienced professionals and attending departmental meetings and workshops
- Supporting internal teams by understanding operational and project-based requirements
- Engaging with clients to clearly understand their cultural and heritage needs
- Acting as a contact point for both supplier and stakeholder queries
- Conducting research, collecting data, and preparing project reports and presentations
- Completing structured assignments and tasks under the guidance of a mentor or specialist
Qualifications
To be eligible for this programme, applicants must have completed any of the following accredited qualifications:
Degree or National Diploma in:
- Heritage Studies
- Fine Art
- History
- Curatorship
- Visual Studies
- Related Humanities disciplines
Note: Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 35 to align with the youth development focus of the programme.
Experience
- 0 to 1 year of relevant working experience
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Excellent command of written and verbal communication
- High attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and adaptability
